Subsidized Shares

Greener Partners offers subsidized CSA shares to low-income families through generous donations from CSA members and the community.

For the 2014 season, we are offering 20% of Hillside Farm’s CSA shares and 5% of Longview’s CSA shares at a reduced price to help income-limited members of our community access a share of our farm’s bounty. By establishing a relationship between farmers and low-income neighborhoods, we hope to help alleviate inequality in the food system that exists when grocery stores fail to adequately serve these areas. Our vision is of a world where everyone has equal access to local, organic food.

How do I participate?

If you’d like to sign up for a subsidized share, please contact Jess.richardson@greenerpartners.org for Hillside Farm or Heather.leach@greenerpartners.org for Longview Farm who will confirm your eligibility. To become a member and reserve your spot, you must sign a CSA membership agreement form which is available here for Hillside or here for Longview  and enclose a $25 deposit toward your commitment in cash or check.

*While subsidized CSA share members are welcome to pay weekly according to the pre-arranged payment plan, we require all CSA members to pay for their entire share, whether or not they are able to pick up every week. Members are welcome to send a friend to pick up a share in their place but all weeks must be paid for. We try to be flexible and understanding to each individual's situation but if payments are not received four weeks in a row, the member will not be eligible to pick up their share until necessary payments have been made. These payments allow our farmers to continue working long, hard days to grow the delicious food we enjoy on a weekly basis.
