We offer guided tours for groups of students of all ages to visit one of our farms and learn about the science of sustainable agriculture and healthy eating from the ground up! All field trips involve hands-on experiences with growing and tasting food. Farm tours may include:
- Investigating plants growing on the farm, highlighting the plant life cycle.
- Learning about composting and soil science.
- Making a healthy snack with seasonal harvested produce.
Trips are either at Guild House Farm in Philadelphia or Deaver Wellness Farm in Wynnewood at Lankenau Medical Center.
All Field Trips are tailored to your age group, and are led by trained farm educators. Most tours are 90 minutes from May to October. There is a minimum of 20 participants per group and a minimum of one chaperone per 12 youth is required.
Please bring payment with you on the day of your visit. The cost is $6 per participating student for our standard 90-minute trip; teachers and chaperones are free. We accept both cash and checks. Please make checks payable to Greener Partners. An invoice can be mailed upon request.
What to Bring
The farm is always muddy no matter what the weather! Dress appropriately and wear boots or rugged shoes if possible. During the summer months, bring water, hats and/or sunscreen.
Our farm tours take place entirely outside. If the weather is stormy, you can decide to cancel or reschedule your tour the same day. Please contact the person you scheduled the tour with via phone as soon as you make your decision.
