Greener Partners’ work in the Norristown area is based at Variety – The Children’s Charity of the Delaware Valley, an esteemed nonprofit working with children and teens with developmental disabilities.
In The Norristown Community
Greener Partners collaborates with Variety on their educational and vocational programs and Greener Partners works with area partners such as the Montgomery County OIC, CCATE, Norristown Area High School, Marshall Street, Hancock and Gotwals elementary schools, among many others.
Norristown Healthy Food Project
In Norristown, where 65 percent of school children are eligible for free and reduced lunch programs, access to fresh produce in many neighborhoods is limited. Through a unique school-based food distribution program, Greener Partners provides weekly locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables (15,000 pounds per season) and bilingual food education for up to 200 families. We also offer garden technical assistance to participating families and four Norristown community organizations whose gardens now grow hundreds of pounds of food for the community.
